Zoella & Friends book club, exclusive to WH Smiths!

Hello everyone – big news…

I’m super excited to announce that I’m going to be part of the Zoella & Friends book club, exclusive to WH Smith!

I absolutely love my two book choices: The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord & The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr. They’re both incredibly captivating reads, for totally different reasons – and I’m excited for readers to get stuck in over the summer.

Of course, I’m constantly pushing books on all my friends and family so it’s exciting to be able to do that on a much bigger scale – and I know that having The Potion Diaries on the first Zoella Book Club list helped me reach so many new readers. I’m so awed by the work that Zoe has done to boost teen reading in the UK and around the world, and I’m proud to call her my friend – both in terms of the book club and in real life!

Make sure to check out whsmith.co.uk/zoellabookclub/ for reviews and exclusives throughout the summer. And be sure to tweet me @amy_alward with any comments you have about the books – or tag me on instagram @amyalward with your pics!

Happy summer reading!

The Potion Diaries: Going Viral has a cover!

Earlier this week, the lovely Zoe Collins was kind enough to reveal the cover for the third Potion Diaries book on her YouTube channel! Zoe has been a huge supporter of my books and the Zoella Book Club so I was thrilled to get her on board 🙂

Thankfully this is another *global* cover look, and I’m so excited to see what it will look like in person! The brilliant people behind the design are Nic and Lou, and as always the cover was overseen by the awesome Simon & Schuster Art Director, Jenny Richards! Thank you all so much! I think this is my favourite of the whole series. I love the return to the bottle design, with the purple liquid bubbling away ominously, and the cherry blossom hints to where Sam’s adventures might take her next…

You can pre-order it here!

AMAZON UK – out August 24, 2017
AMAZON.COM – out October 31, 2017

CHAPTERS.CA – out October 31, 2017

And here is a very short synopsis that doesn’t give too much away!:

Having managed to find her great-grandmother’s potion diary, escape Emilia Thoth, save her grandfather’s memories AND become a Master Alchemist, surely it’s time for Sam to have a good, long rest? And maybe, just maybe, a date with her boyfriend Zain?
But now that Evelyn is married and showing symptoms of the Gergon illness, it looks as though Sam’s adventures are just beginning…

The Potion Diaries is on the WH Smith & Zoella Book Club list!

A little break from travel blogging to say – WOOHOO! Yesterday, the big news was announced that The Potion Diaries is part of the Zoella Book Club, exclusive to WH Smith, along with 7 other amazing titles. I feel truly blessed and honoured, and excited for next few months to come!

You can buy all 8 books in a bundle on WH Smith’s for 29.99

It has a gorgeous new pink and gold foil cover too, which I cannot WAIT to see in person. You can buy this super special edition on the WH Smith website too!

There’s going to be lots of extra EXCLUSIVE content to come – including a deleted scene from The Potion Diaries, a Twitter takeover, blog posts, q&as and videos! Keep an eye on the WH Smith website, as The Potion Diaries is going to have its ‘feature fortnight’ at the start of August. In the meantime, I’m going to be reading and discussing along with everyone else (I’ve read 4/8 books on the list, so I NEED to catch up on the others!). Should be really fun!

Also, I realized that I’ve never listed on the blog some of the other awesome editions of The Potion Diaries that are on sale around the world in different languages and territories.

In the US and Canada, the title of The Potion Diaries in hardback is MADLY. It’s being released as The Potion Diaries (with the same cover as the UK) in paperback in October, though.

Links to buy: US edition and Canadian edition

There’s an awesome SPANISH edition, out now from Nocturna, called Pociones: FILTRO

There’s a super gorgeous CZECH edition, out now from Talpress, called DENIK ALCHYMISTKY

Coming next month is this beautiful GERMAN edition, from Random House, called HOKUSPOKUS, LIEBE MICH

And there are also French, Portuguese and Bulgarian editions in the works, so I’ll keep you updated about those!

In the meantime… happy reading!

I can’t quite believe that The Potion Diaries is launching in TWO DAYS time, and the official launch party is tonight, and the blog tour is happening and OH MY it’s all exciting times.

There are *lots* of different places to find me on the inter webs this week, and here are a selection:

I love the juxtaposition with Magic Mike here ;)

There are The Potion Diaries banners running on Sugarscape, and they’re hosting an AMAZING competition to win a ‘Make Your Own Fragrance’ day with Red Letter Days and a signed copy of the book! Enter the Sugarscape Competition here!

I wrote a piece for Foyles on “Generation HP” – the influence of JK Rowling and Harry Potter on today’s authors.

MaximumPop! has a piece about Which of Sam Kemi’s Potions do you need today?

On Bookbrunch I wrote a piece on how an Old English word inspired The Potion Diaries (it’s behind a paywall at the moment so I’ll link to it when it goes public).

There will be even more going live later this week so keep checking in.

I’m also visiting some AMAZING blogs, so check these out as the week goes by:
